Description
Survey Land Districts were the original extents used for registering titles. They are now not used because all titles are managed in a single database in Wellington, but they are still required for old title numbers to keep them unique. A two letter code is prefixed in front of all titles that have a forward slash (/) in them. New titles are a simple integer. Do not confuse these with the local circuit boundaries.
Each district has a number from 1001 - 1012. Chatham Islands are included in 1006 (Wellington).
