The line work for the railroads layer was derived for the 1:24,000 scale United States Geologic Survey (USGS) map series for the region. The line work came from a variety of digital sources that include Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), State of Idaho and United States Forest Service (USFS) Cartographic Feature Files (CFFs). Areas in which digital source could not be found where derived by digitizing the features off the USGS 1,24,000 scale quads. After the draft railroad layer was completed maps where then produced and sent to the Union Pacific Railroad and other rail road aficionados for verification of the lines.
This layer is sourced from gis.cdatribe-nsn.gov.
