This countywide composite of parcels (cadastral) data for Monmouth County represents digitized property boundaries that were developed from best available local and municipal tax maps data. The normalized parcels data are compatible with the New Jersey Department of Treasury MOD-IV system currently used by tax assessors. Stewardship and maintenance of the data continue under the purview of the Monmouth County GIS Office as well as local municipal tax authorities. Parcel attributes were normalized to a standard structure, specified in the New Jersey GIS Parcel Mapping Standard, to store parcel information and provide a PIN (parcel identification number) field common to the PIN that was to be stored in the PAMS (Property Assessment Management System) database to replace the MOD-IV database. Please note that this parcel dataset is not intended for use as tax maps nor for legal purposes. The dataset is intended to provide reasonable representations of parcel boundaries primarily for planning purposes and cartographic representation. Please note cautions when performing a join with this dataset and MOD-IV property records, specifically regarding duplicate and erroneous records. All records may not be provided for in the parcels data or MOD-IV (Tax List Search) tables because of how the data and tables are constructed, or for temporal mismatches. MOD-IV provides for the uniform preparation, maintenance, presentation and storage of property tax information required by the Constitution of the State of New Jersey, New Jersey Statutes and rules promulgated by the Director of Taxation. MOD-IV maintains and updates all assessment records, and produces all statutorily required tax lists. These lists account for all parcels of real property as delineated and identified on each municipality's official tax map, as well as taxable values and descriptive data for each parcel.

This data set was originally created from a collection of county bridge information (1986), since then the information has been digitized into a GIS data layer and edited periodically. The information contained in this feature class should be considered a draft dataset and locations, materials and other listed attributes should be verified onsite and/or with the Monmouth County Division of Bridges or the Monmouth County Division of Engineering in the Monmouth County Department of Public Works and Engineering.

The data set will provide stream information for regulators, planners, and others interested in hydrography data. The use of the NHD data layers in hydrologic analyses will provide a means of monitoring "the health of the citizens and ecosystems of New Jersey" through the use of diverse applications. This data set is intended to serve as a resource for analysis rather than regulatory delineations. The NJDEP may change the line work based on more in depth analysis and field inspection for regulatory purposes. As part of the Framework, the extent of coastal flood hazard was completed by using readily availableSea, Lake, and Overland Surge from Hurricanes (SLOSH) modeling conductedby NOAA. SLOSH modeling of hurricane intensities is categorized by the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale and includes other characteristics of hurricanes that can vary considerably along the coast, such as angle of approach to the shoreline, width and slope of the continental shelf, astronomical high tide level, and local geographic features (FEMA 2011). The SLOSH model outputs inform hurricane evacuation studies. The inundation zones identified by the SLOSH model depict areas of possible flooding from the maximum of maximum (MOM) event within the five categories of hurricanes by estimating the potential surge inundation during a high-tide landfall. Although the SLOSH inundation mapping is not referenced to a specific probability of occurrence (unlike FEMA flood mapping, which presents the 0.2-percent- and 1-percent-annual-chance flood elevation zones) nor does it include wave heights, the flooding inundation from a Category 4 hurricane making landfall during high tide represents an extremely lowprobability of occurrence but high-magnitude event. The intent of the NACCS is to generate a spatially comprehensive, but first-order approximation of flooding vulnerability across the entire northeastern Atlantic coastal region. The use of the SLOSH model MOM was necessary based on the very large spatial extent of the study area and the fact that it is currently the most advanced storm surge modeling available for the entire study area. The extent of the Category 4 MOM represents the maximum storm tide levels caused by extreme hurricane scenarios across the region, and, therefore, provides a reasonable approximation of the most extreme flooding extent. The State and District of Columbia Appendix presents the SLOSH hydrodynamic modeling inundation mapping associated with Categories 1 through 4 hurricanes used for evacuation modeling.

The Monmouth County, NJ Addressed Road Centerline contains addressed ranges for the entire county of Monmouth. Data was developed from the April, 2003 aerial flyover. Addresses were attached to the road centerline using tax parcels . The lines have address 'From Left', 'To Left', 'From Right', 'To Right' The method for capturing street address to a road centerline is common and used for many computer dispatch systems and E911 software systems. The data has been continually updated to improve geocoding capabilities for those who need accurate address searching.
